4 days off and full of errands, trips and other stuff

4 days of catching up and trying to get ahead of the game and I think, yes I know I did it!

Shopped for a Honda Civic on Friday at Liberty Honda in Hartford, CT.   Should own it within the month.  Had the nails done too!

Drove to Newton, MA to celebrate my birthday and my brother Dave's.  Hung out with my nephew Owen and niece Amelia, Dave, Beth, Mom and Dad.  It was a fun and food filled day!  Owen is losing his 2nd tooth and Amelia has two teeth.  Owen almost has riding a bike with no training wheels!  Amelia is quite the animated cute little girl.

Sunday, church annual meeting.... We are moving forward as a congregation.  Cousin Joy helped me with my reunion postcard...  Thanks cuz.

Today, errands, errands and then cleaning.  Purposely kept all the yucky stuff to a rainy day.

a busy week

It's been a busy week..... let's see.

Still watching the little seedlings grow in my enclosed front porch.  Did I blog that?  My cousin Joy and I planted seeds 3 weeks ago in egg cartons to give our garden a start.  The seedlings are growing so fast!!!  With the warm sun these last 10+ days, it has really helped them grow.  Of course, Tuxy discovered them mid week and had a little snack on a few.  So needed to rearrange them a bit to be out of his reach.   Cats, they are such characters

I delivered flowers last weekend to a woman from church, she is such a spitfire.  Great energy.  She introduced me to a neighbor, who needed a dog sitter and someone to cut his lawn.  I tried to connect a few folk, but didn't work out.  That's how Connect the People works, sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't.

I start teaching a yoga class permanently this Thursday May 1st at the Zen Zone in Tarifffville.  I am looking forward to giving people the gift of yoga

Off to Newton tomorrow to celebrate family birthdays.  Fun!!

Let's see what's happened in the past month

My brackets blew apart in the first weekend.  But the Boston Red Sox are on top of the American league.  So life is good!

I finished my community service yoga teaching, so will start teaching on Thursday nights at the Zen Zone in Tariffville, CT.  I am excited and nervous to get started.  I have a great mentor in my current instructor.  I have another friend who has offered help and guidance to me too.  I am blessed.

Work is busy, thankfully.  Our clients just seem to take time trying to make sure they have found the right person to fill the position

Talk Soon.... B

My Brackets are BUSTED

Whoosh.  That's what happens when you go with your heart.  I do it every year.  I always choose the Big East teams to go the furthest.  Well, Pitt, Gtwn, and UCONN are all out and we aren't even in the sweet 16 yet.  YIKES.  Oh well, that's part of the fun to see which of the lower seeds can beat the higher seeds

Easter weekend, spent time with my niece and nephew.  Both so sweet.  Easter egg hunts, coloring eggs, memory game.  Lots of delish food.  A good long weekend.

Topping the Master

Last night I went to MSG- the most famous sports arena as they claim.  It is the start of one of my most favorite times of year..... The Big East Tournament and then the Big Dance!!!!  Anyway, I go with my friend Amy from high school.  (it's 30 years since we graduated from SHS) and she sits in her seat first, I go to sit in mine and as I sit down I look at the woman next to me as she looks at me....and.   OMG, another friend from High School.  Needless to say the 3 of us chatted thru most of the games.  Our team, UCONN, was already out so we were just watching to see who would be in Finals tonight.

My cousin Amy, said I even topped my Dad on this one.  Dad runs in to people he knows all the time, he is the Master!  But last night, I guess I topped him

Tomorrow is Selection Sunday and then on to DANCING

getting the black belt

Yesterday our family watched Nate get his Youth Black Belt in Karate.  He has worked very hard for the last 6 years and yesterday was a culmination of his efforts.  He had about 15 relatives/friends come watch him achieve this goal.  We are all very proud of him.  He is  a good solid young man.

In addition to attending the test, I also chatted with quite a few people about my yoga teaching.  As you know I am a strong believer in networking so speaking to others I believe is helping me figure out where and when I will teach.  I think I have decided to keep the current Thursday nights at 7:15 class at the Zen Zone in Tariffville.   My current instructor has created such a beautiful, peaceful environment to practice yoga.

yoga teaching

I taught my first yoga class this past week. I am blessed to have a wonderful supportive teacher who has allowed me to use her space while I go through my teacher training. I need to teach 8 free classes to finish my certification. This past Thursday evening 11 of my friends from different walks of my life came together for the first class. It was a great feeling to watch them all practice yoga. I received great feedback and good ideas to improve my teaching. I am looking forward to teaching a permanent class.

I spent a weekend in Boston in January learning how to teach yoga. The program is called yogafit and it is a vinayasa stylle yoga.  It was a great weekend session.  I learned from the instructor Mary Comfort as well as from the students in the class.  Many were fitness instructors already and were adding yoga to their repertoire.   Check out their web site www.yogafit.com
